Whew, Finally.   Crawling out of the hole that was 4 days of sick, sleep, and not eating much more than a cup of crushed ice.  ”Luckily” most of it was over the weekend, so my husband was around to cook and clean while I buried myself under the covers and stayed in bed until I absolutely couldn’t bear the thought of how much laundry was piling up while I wasn’t awake to do it.

 

The first thing I noticed when I got up was that we were out of groceries.  OUT.  And that “THE BIGGEST SNOWSTORM EVER SINCE THE LAST BIGGEST SNOWSTORM EVER” was on the way.  Oh, my word, did we need groceries.

 

Lately I’ve found that every time there’s a scare on bread and milk,  I actually really just need some bread and milk.

And toilet paper.

I also needed some coupons for all of these groceries I was going to buy.  There are times when I can scrape by on generic items and do pretty well, and times when I know that if they sell it at the store, it’s going in my cart.

 

This was one of the latter.

 

As much as I try to be good about clipping coupons and comparing the price of the generic to the coupon + sale item, my biggest complaint about a giant stack of tiny scraps of paper is just that.  I’ve tried those little coupon organizers, but I have trouble when it comes to keeping it organized.  I can see where those bigger binders would help you see all of your coupons more clearly, and sort them and flip through them, but I can assure you, I’m not adding a coupon binder to my regular load of things which I carry in my purse.

 

So,  I confess.  I don’t coupon the way any good frugal momma should.

I didn’t.

Until Food Lion came out with their MVP Coupon Hub.

Because Guess-the-Heck-What.

 

You don’t have to clip the coupons and keep up with a giant stack of tiny scraps of paper.

Can I get an Amen?

You just visit the MVP Coupon Hub on the Food Lion Website, like when your husband is watching DVR-recordings of last season’s college football games (I don’t know.  I really just do not know.), and select the coupons you want to load coupons directly to your MVP card.

 

And Guess-What-The-Heck-Else.

This is where it gets good.

Like, Clemson vs. UGA last- season good.

 

 

The coupons on the MVP Coupon Hub aren’t just the Food Lion MVP sales.

They are real coupons. 

The exact same ones you see in the Sunday paper.

You don’t have to clip them.

Or even buy the paper.

Look at you, Food Lion.  Saving me Two Bucks from the get-go.

 

You just select the ones you want, and add them to your card.  Me personally?  I just added them all.  Since I was buying everything at the store and all anyways.  And who THE HECK likes to be all up in the middle of Food Lion, deciding to buy six containers of Yogurt, and remembering you saw a coupon in the Sunday Paper for just that, but you didn’t clip it, and now you have to pay that 40 cents more.

 

Not me.
